Archaeological Sites

Tour Time: 3 hours

This Tour offers a guided tour to introduce everyone to the most important archaeological sites of the Osa Canton that were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO; such as:

1. The archaeological site Finca 6: in this sector there is a small museum, and it is also the only place that preserves stone spheres in their original place.

2. Batambal archaeological sites: it is a small place with a beautiful view of the entire valley and the ocean. It also has a tomb and stone spheres.

In addition to making a stop at the Palmar Sur public park and the old railway, used by the Banana Company during the 1930s.

Nature Walk at Marino Ballena National Park

Tour Time: 3 hours
Price: $65 pp

 

During the walk you will be accompanied by your local tour guide, who will show you and explain everything about the place. The Marino Ballena National Park is a natural treasure that offers a rich diversity of marine and terrestrial ecosystems. This park is famous for its Tombolo (whale's tail) formation, which is revealed at low tide.

Within the park, there are diverse ecosystems, such as coral reefs, seagrass meadows and beaches. These habitats are essential for the survival of numerous marine species. 

Exploring the Marino Ballena National Park is the opportunity to understand the importance of protecting these valuable ecosystems.

Máscara Boruca

Boruca Tour

Tour Time:  One day

Experience a cultural immersion in the South Pacific of Costa Rica and visit an indigenous community. Where you will be able to observe the hand-painted masks, which represent legends, stories and themes of nature that have shaped their identity and daily lives.

The tour begins with a visit to his workshop, following each of the steps to create the masks, from the woodwork to the colorful painting among other things. While enjoying a typical lunch made with locally harvested ingredients.
 
This cultural and educational experience is perfect for a family or small group of friends, who will have the opportunity to purchase original handmade gifts.

Bird Watching

Tour Time: 3 hours
Price: $70 pp

 

Our tour starts at 5:45 a.m. This is the perfect time to enjoy the songs of the most incredible birds prior to the walk.

The tour consists of taking a walk through trails in a specific place in the canton to be able to observe as many birds as possible during the tour. 

 

You can do this route either on a forest rodeo trail or if you prefer something closer we have the option in the surroundings of the Palmar community.

It includes:

  • Tourist guide with telescope (bilingual).

  • Entrance ticket.

  • List of Observed Birds.

  • Breakfast at the end of the tour.

Agrotourism & Traditional Cuisine

 

Tour Time:  3 hours
Price: $65 pp

The agricultural tour consists of a tour and a visit to two families who will share their production and planting of the crops that support their families. It is a family ecotourism project where you can participate in various activities, such as cutting sugarcane, learning about seasonal fruits, birdwatching, observing agricultural activities such as banana and ornamental plant production, and enjoying a walk through the area, among others.

We will visit the Azofeifa-Godínez family to learn about the local culture and how they use waste to minimize pollution and improve the quality of life for the surrounding families.

 

We will then continue back to Palmar Norte, where we will meet Doña Felicia, who will give us a brief introduction to traditional indigenous cuisine. This tour will allow us to learn about the history of Costa Rican families. Finally, you will enjoy a seasonal fruit juice, a delicious lunch, or a typical Costa Rican dish, depending on the time of the tour.

Hiking & Waterfall

In our community there is a great variety of waterfalls to discover, our tour offers you the opportunity to get closer to nature and get to know some of them without having to get up very early.

The tour consists of a guided walk to the sector, where you can observe some birds, hopefully mammals. Arriving at the time of swimming and relaxing in the refreshing water, enjoying the wonderful green color of the forest.

It includes:

 

  • Tour guide.

  • Water, fruits.

  • Snacks.

Piedras Blancas

National Park

 

Tour Time:  One day 
Price: $120 pp

Located on the South Pacific coast of Costa Rica, this national park has a sector located in the Canton of Golfito and to the southeast with the Osa. The Piedras Blancas National Park has a connection with the Corcovado National Park and the Golfo Dulce Forest Reserve that form an important biological corridor, which protects a great diversity of species of flora and fauna that bring to life the majestic Golfo Dulce.

This national park is very attractive for its scenic beauty and for birdwatching lovers. The tour takes place through the Esquinas river until reaching the "El Bonito" Station and then a walk through the park trails where you can see birds, small mammals and learn more about the flora of the place.

 

At the end of the tour you will enjoy a delicious lunch in the community of La Gamba.

Night Walk Tour

Tour Time:  2 hours
Price: $70 pp

 

Uvita is one of the ideal places to discover wildlife during a night hike, whether along the trails or in the community, where we can find species that have adapted to survive in the forest at night.

During the hike, with flashlights in hand, we'll venture into the forest, discussing the history of the community, the forest, and more, while searching for insects, reptiles, amphibians, small mammals, and nocturnal birds that are not seen during a daytime hike.

In places like this, you'll have the opportunity to experience a new perspective with a unique and exciting hike in our community.

As you walk through the forest in the dark, you'll be accompanied by a certified bilingual local guide who will point out some of these species. While sightings are not guaranteed, you'll still enjoy the experience.

Includes: Headlamp, boots, certified tour guide, insurance, entrance fee, 2-hour tour (depending on group size).
